When the outside world isn't soft to us, we escape to another world.

 7 September - 25 October 2026

MMAD GALLERY 4 , 2nd Fl., MunMun Srinakarin

Soft World is an interactive installation by Jittimon Muntranon that invites you to step into a small world crafted by fabric, yarn, color, and imagination. Through a spatial environment that encourages exploration, touch and movement that become a part of experience.
The exhibition presents two continuous works that have gradually experimented from the artist’s interest in everyday materials and the relationships between objects, people, and memory. It begins with Dive into Wonderland (2025), which explores the creation of an imaginary world through textiles. This expands into a second body of work developed through collaborations with the Ban San Kong Hand Embroidery Community in Chiang Rai, alongside the Upcycle project by the Mirror Foundation.
Inside, you can feel as though you have wandered into an unfamiliar yet familiar world. Countless soft sculptures are loosely arranged throughout the space, gradually revealing forms, colors, threads, and relationships between playful elements. The environment does not reveal itself all at once. Take a moment to notice what surrounds you.
For Jittimon, materials are more than means of constructing form but also connected to experience, memories and imagination. Her practice is rooted in growing up in a family deeply connected to craft, which she recognizes as a language of care, relationship, and tenderness expressed through the hands. This interest has developed into experimentation with various materials and scales. In 2018, she began creating paper models of everyday objects and architecture known as Analogift and in 2024 she expanded her practice to large-scale installations as a space for imagination and participation.
In this body of work, she does not create a world to be looked at create a space for you to step inside and gradually discover a sense of wonder in the traces of human hands. Ultimately, Soft World may not be far from everyday life but hidden within the objects, materials, memories and relationships around us. It is only when we slow down and look closely that these ordinary things may open the door to another world.
